Goldie Chan has recently begun shooting her autobiographical comedic webseries entitled "Otaku" with several other projects in the works (both on the casting and producing end). Two shorts and a feature she has performed in have made it to film festivals (notably Frameline festival for "Never The Bride") and she is waiting to hear back about several others as well. Goldie was also cast for a short film "KnuckleBerry" with Jacob Rangel that was in the competition to go to Cannes. "I got cast off Casting Connection!!. | Mackenzie Firgens is having an excellent year so far. She just wrapped the starring role in "The Untitled Martin Rosenberg Project" directed by Martin Rosenberg (Terminator Salvation, Saving Private Ryan) which shot on location in Ione Sacramento in Preston Castle. And her latest film "The Violent Kind," which premiered at Sundance was just screened at SF Intl. "Firgens gives a screen-melting, star-making performance" --KQED. Plus she just booked a McDonald's commercial. "Things are going really well! I'm so grateful for the great start I got in the Bay Area and so joyful that I keep getting cast in the city!" |  |
 | David Fine won Best Actor at Hollywood Shockfest and Best Breakout Performance for a Horror Killer at the Haunted Horror Int'l Film Fest in Georgia. David also had a hard edged cameo in "The Violent Kind." Which is screening now at Sundance and was directed by the Butcher Brothers, Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores.  | Micci Toliver wrapped a "guest star" role on Delphine Suter's indie short, "Easy Made Hard." Micci also worked on the supporting role in Tim Gregory's "Political Animals" which premiered 10/17. He's currently in rehearsal for the supporting role in Cooper Glosenger's "Guerilla Wil," which is set to shoot in mid-November. | Jennie Floyd is proud to share some recent acting successes. She shot the supporting role (an alcoholic mother) in the pilot-series, ìLeft Foot, Right Foot," set to premier this month. She also shot a graduate thesis, "How We See." Jennie landed the lead in Alejandro Adams' ("All Around the Bay") new feature, "Child of God,î and is wrapping in LA on the internet-series spoof "Whorified! His most recent DVD release is "Wasted," screened at Tribeca under the title "Farewell Bender." Another film, "Isolated" is currently available via video on demand in the UK, while the short, "Back Issues" continues to be a comic convention hit and was most recently a rousing success in Toronto. Lastly, "Harrison Montgomery" will be the closing night film for the 2008 Santa Monica International Film Festival. "Molly Craft and Casting Connection have been vital to the success of my career. David Fine shot the role of Baranski on "Burn Notice" on location in Miami Beach and also played the role of Jerry Weir(d) in Ray Kurzweil's docudrama "Singularity is Near." David also completed a role in Josh Harris SAG feature "No Ambition." 'David's 40-min short that is a work in progress feature, entitled "The Red Door," by sundance vet Jason Bognacki, screens at the LA Downtown Film Festival at the Laemmle Grande on Figueroa St. on August 16 and his 40-minute short "The Strange Case of Salman Abd Al Haqq" screens in August at well at the Action on Film Festival in Pasadena.  | Sam Roemer recently played the role of Greg in HP Mendoza's latest film called "Fruit Fly." "It's a musical so you will see us dancing and singing and having a blast. It's by far the best role I have played to date." Look for it in theaters later this year. Sam is also performing in a hip hop dance show called Mission in the Mix produced by local choreographer, Micaya on June 27-29 at Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco. Jeffrey Weissman co-stars in the ìChristopher Guestî style mocu-mentary, ìcorkedî, which is having itís world premiere at the Sonoma Valley Film Festival April 11th & 12th. Jeffrey got the audition for the role of Jerry Hannon in ìcorkedî through Casting Connection. The directors cast him sighting his abilities as an actor and improviser, much later they found out about roles he played previously; Clint Eastwoodís ìPale Riderî, George Millerís episode of ìTwilight Zone the Movieî, and Robert Zemeckis cast him to play the iconic role of ìGeorge McFlyî in the two sequels to ìBack to the Futureî. | David Fine just finished a slew of new film roles around the country. He played the 3rd credited role in the horror film "Dog" outside of Detroit. He also just completed the horror film "Lonely Joe" as the title character in Syracuse New York opposite Erica Leehrsen from >/b>"Wrong Turn 2" and finally David did a turn in the Charlie Murphy comedy "The Hustle" in Sacramento California. David also lucked out and shot an international SAG commercial for Pepsi's new AMP soda campaign.  | Jennie Floyd has been busy. She recently worked on Sharon Miller's "Birds and Bees" where she played one of the leads and booked a role on an indie short called "Twine." Jennie also has three feature films which were released this fall: "Divine Unrest;" "Duke's Cafe;" and Barry Levinson's latest film starring Robert Deniro and Sean Penn entitled, "What Just Happened?." Jennie was cast personally by Mr.Levinson for this film about the Cannes Film Festival because he liked her look. She is featured in the red carpet scenes as a "Catherine Deneuve" type. Jennie also just filmed a sitcom pilot, "Natural Causes." "I have been acting for six years and working in LA since 2005, dividing my time between SF and LA, it is finally starting to pay off because I now have great material for my reel. Hector Bustamantewas seen last month on NBC's "HEROES' While in the Bay Area, Hector worked very diligently on his craft by acting in plays, independent films and commercials. He also took classes under Nancy Berwid, who invited him to a workshop that eventually made way for a role on CBS' "The Agency" as the head of the Colombian police. A role on "NYPD Blue," one of his favorite shows, soon followed. After signing with a Los Angeles talent agent, Hector made his official move to Los Angeles in 2003 and continued landing co-star and guest starring roles on critically acclaimed shows like "The Shield," "24," "Heroes," and "Las Vegas," as well as major roles in such films as "Hostage" opposite Bruce Willis and "SueÒo," in which he starred with John Leguizamo.

 | "Three years ago I posted a casting on CC looking for actors for my short film, "Oasis." From that listing I casted three lead actors, and two supporting actors." Hollie Lemarr, of Next Exit Films reports that in 2003 she shot and edited a 30-minute film, which unfortunately, wasn't accepted into any of the festivals submitted. After years of frustration she decided to see the project through. So, she cut it down to five minutes and submitted it to the 17th Annual Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival. After being accepted and included in the 19 shorts shown, "Oasis" was nominated for best short. "Getting my project accepted and getting a nomination, gave everyone involved in the film the confidence and encouragement to persure more festivals and more projects.
